Skincare Tips for Oily Skin

Skincare Tips for Oily Skin

One of the ways of gaining self-confidence when pulling off the hijab is to have good skin. When you look good, you automatically feel good. Teenagers and Young adults in Malaysia are so prone to oily-skin! Mainly because of Malaysia's humid weather. Here are some tips to help maintain Fresh & Youthful skin:

1. Cleanse Twice everyday! Choose a Gel Cleanser as it will help clean out pores and strip away excess oil.

2. Always use an alcohol- free toner and moisturize using a water-based moisturizer. Nothing too complicated for your skin!

3. Scrubbing is great for Oily Skin especially after a whole day in the sun! A good option is a scrub that contains charcoal as it helps to absorb excess oil.

However, please avoid over-exfoliating your face as it might cause your skin to be dry and causes more production of sebum than needed. You should not exfoliate more than 3-4 times a month!

4. Apply daily face masks 2-3 times a week for maximum results as they will help to repair the skin and will help reduce any redness or irritation. You can try masks with soothing ingredients such as aloe vera, tea tree or seaweed!

The best masks hands down, for value and quality is the ones from Body Shop ladies!!! Their masks will change your life!! My personal favourite, their Tea Tree Face Mask.

5. Another option is to try home remedy masks such as this coconut turmeric mask. It makes your skin brighter and glow!

6. Try to go for a "Less is More Daily Make-up Look" : Don't cake on your face with thick layers of Foundation or Powder, but instead, opt for Tinted Sunscreen & Loose Powder.

7. H2O is the Game Changer: Hydrate yourself with water and avoid sugary drinks. Drink at least 8 litres a day and see how your skin evolve.

8. Go for Facial treatments once every two months! They will help you get the ultimate clean face you ever need! P/S: You should never pop a pimple yourself! Let the Pros do it! ;)

9. Avoid all products with high alcohol content as they might irritate your skin and cause your skin to break out.

10. Lastly, is to NEVER go out without applying sunscreen/sunblock. The sun rays are very damaging to the skin. So, slap it on as much as you can before you leave your house!

Remember ladies, everyone can have beautiful skin. It's just how you treat it. So know your skin and treat it accordingly. Good luck!
